This course was developed to help you learn more about the types of imaging that can be found in third world countries. You'll start the day learning about different organizations that are involved with imaging and differences in imaging professionals globally. We'll discuss expectations of volunteering and how to get involved. You'll learn about overcoming barriers when working with imaging professionals and the different needs associated with equipment. The day will close learning about safety in working abroad, and experiences of previous volunteers. You will leave understanding how you, the technologist, can get involved in global health related to imaging.

This program provides 5 hours of AHRA Category A continuing education credit for radiologic technologists recognized by the ARRT and various licensure states. You must attend the entire program to receive your certificate of completion.
Tiffani Walker MSRS, RT(R)
Tiffani Walker is currently employed at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in Los Angeles, CA as the Assistant Director of the Radiologic Technologist Program. Prior to accepting a position in education, Ms. Walker was employed in several modalities including General Radiography, Computed Tomography, Mammography, and Bone Densitometry. Tiffani completed her education for her Associates, Bachelors, and master’s degrees in radiologic technology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She is currently seeking a Doctoral degree from the Texas Women’s University in Health Studies.rnrn Ms. Walker is a recent past President and Board Chair for AEIRS. She has been a long-time member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), as well as, served on several committees and on the HOD. She is a member and Past President of the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologist (TSRT). Currently, Tiffani is working with RAD-AID as the assistant director of the learning management system (LMS) and previously as the director of the technologist program. Tiffani was a previous RAD-AID/ASRT Foundation Outreach Fellow in both Luang Probang, Laos and Monrovia, Africa.rnTiffani has published articles, been a reviewer for several textbooks, and has presented numerous presentations at the state, national, and international levels.rn
