• Texas Mammography Accreditation Program: Where It Is, Where It`s Been, and Where It`s Going

This free class, led by Trae Windham RT(R), the Mammography Branch Manager at the Texas Department of State Health Services, offers an in-depth look into the Texas Mammography Accreditation Program. It begins with a brief history of the program, noting Texas' official recognition as an Accrediting Body (AB) in 1998, joining three others at the time. Currently, there are three accrediting bodies, but soon there will be only two. The class explains what accreditation entails and discusses whether facilities need to be accredited. It also clarifies the differences between accreditation, certification, and registration in Texas, providing a comprehensive understanding of these processes.

Furthermore, the class addresses the current state of the Texas Mammography Accreditation Program and outlines the transition for Texas-accredited facilities to the American College of Radiology. The session covers regulatory oversight moving forward and concludes with a Q&A segment, allowing participants to ask specific questions and clarify any doubts. This class is designed to provide valuable insights and updates for those involved in mammography services in Texas.
