FAST Focused Ultrasound: POCUS Training for Emergency & Cruise Line Medical Professionals
The “Golden Hour” is a critical window in emergency medicine where rapid, accurate decision-making can save lives. Capitalize on the speed and precision of ultrasound with our FAST Focused Ultrasound course, which meets the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) requirement for cruise line medical professionals to be trained in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
This one-day course is designed to equip practitioners with the essential skills to perform a Focused Assessment by Sonography in Trauma (FAST scan), a bedside ultrasound protocol used to rapidly assess thoracic and abdominal trauma. Every healthcare provider responsible for evaluating trauma patients plays a crucial role in determining patient outcomes.
The course begins with lecture-based instruction covering ultrasound physics, instrumentation, anatomy, procedures, and protocols. Following this, participants will gain hands-on experience through live scanning labs, practicing key techniques for quick and accurate diagnosis.
Course Highlights:
Meets ACEP’s POCUS training requirement for cruise line medical professionals
Hands-on scan labs with live models for real-world application
Focused training on rapid ultrasound assessment in emergency settings
Designed for physicians and medical professionals in trauma and acute care settings
Mobile training available - we can conduct the class at your facility
The Advanced Health Education Center has trained physicians across the United States, China, and South America in emergency ultrasound techniques. This course follows ACEP guidelines to ensure skills can be rapidly deployed without removing the provider from the resuscitation area.
Prepare yourself with the knowledge and confidence to make life-saving decisions in emergency situations on land or at sea!
