Our expert faculty member, Deb Scroggins, MSRS, RT(R)(CT)(CV)(M), will guide you through a comprehensive exploration of cross sectional abdominal, chest, and head anatomy and pathology.
We'll start by reviewing the essential physics concepts that underlie CT scanning, including backprojection and image reconstruction, helical CT and pitch, and beam hardening and dual-energy CT. You'll gain a deep understanding of these foundational principles and how they relate to high-quality CT imaging. Then dive into the anatomy and pathology of the abdomen, chest, and head, with a focus on cross sectional views. You'll learn how to identify structures and pathologies on these views, including the appendix, gallbladder, ventricles, and aorta. Our course materials are packed with detailed images and diagrams to help you visualize these structures and deepen your understanding.
By the end of the course, you'll be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to produce great CT scans. You'll be able to discuss the types of filters used in backprojection, give examples of low-pitch techniques in helical scanning, and confidently identify key structures on cross sectional views of the abdomen, chest, and head.
