At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to: 

1. Identify the anatomical boundaries and essential structures of the breast, including the functional unit (TDLU) and lymphatic drainage patterns. 

2. Describe the requirements for positioning standard mammography views (CC and MLO), ensuring optimal coverage of the posterior nipple line (PNL) within ACR standards. 

3. Differentiate between benign and malignant mammographic findings based on mass shape (e.g., circumscribed vs. speculated) and calcification morphology (e.g., fine linear branching vs. teacup). 

4. Recognize the mammographic presentations and clinical significance of high-risk lesions and malignant pathologies such as DCIS, IDC, ILC, and Inflammatory Breast Cancer. 

5. Explain the purpose and proper application of supplemental views, including Tangential views for skin lesions and Magnification views for calcification evaluation.

This program provides 16.0 AHRA Category A continuing education credit for radiologic technologists recognized by the ARRT and various licensure states. You must complete a post test and pass with a 75% or higher to receive your certificate of completion.
